We were feelin’ a little too serious today so, we decided to load up on sweets and search the web for all things funny. As you can imagine we found a lot of fodder, laughed until we cried, and then decided most were not safe to repost on our blog. Sorry… you’ll have to search those on your own.
Don’t fret followers – we did find several that are appropriate for the masses. Check out our funnies below:
Aunt Sherry says, “I don’t know why you’re planning such an extravagant honeymoon! When Uncle Melvin and I got married 44 years ago we stayed at the local town inn for just one night. Such a fancy vacation seems like a waste of money to me!”
Oh Aunt Sherry, times have certainly changed but just because you’re getting married in the 21st century doesn’t mean the cost of the honeymoon has to be excessive. We touched on this before but search for honeymoon package deals that are all inclusive – airfare, hotel, rental car, etc all in one low price tag. In addition, consider staying local (or within driving distance) to avoid to cost of air travel. Finally, get creative – there are a lot of great Honeymoon spots out there that will offer you a one-of-a-kind getaway.
Need some inspiration? Take a look at our recommendations below:
Love nature but don’t want to sleep on the ground? Check out this affordable rental from Out’n’About Treehouse Treesort just up the road in Oregon. This is just one of the many dwellings they offer for rental. Move over Swiss Family Robinson’s – here comes The Honeymooners.
We’re not too sure what to say about this hotel but we think the following applies “This totally tubolicious Tubhotel triggers toe titillation.” Ok, it’s true we got a little carried away with the alliteration on this one but the rooms are so unique just seeing the photos prompted creativity!
There is a first time for everything, so it’s only natural to be excited when you’re asked to be a bridesmaid. Despite what the Bride may say being a bridesmaid doesn’t mean that you’re now her servant. Don’t let her fool you.
Here are some Eventity tips on how to be an exceptional bridesmaid:
- Plan a kick-ass Bachelorette party where the Bride can celebrate her upcoming nuptials with her best friends
- Offer to help with addressing and mailing save the dates and invitations
- Accompany the bride on her dress shopping efforts (including shoes, jewerly, veils etc.)
- Assist the bride with wedding errands (Do your best to be available)
- Lend a hand with the ceremony and reception set up (Don’t forget rehearsal, if required)
- Don’t forget – the dress can be a challenge and she may need help with potty breaks
Above all else, be available emotionally because planning a wedding is stressful.
On our blog we like to interview our couples who are celebrating their wedding anniversaries. We ask questions about life after the planning and we always have a lot of fun reading the answers and reposting them for our blog followers. Today, we encountered an incredible idea on Pinterest and we just had to share.
Every year on your wedding anniversary take a photo of yourselves documenting the momentous occasion.
We love this idea for so many reasons but most of all, after 50 years of marriage you, your children, and grandchildren can look back on the photos together.
It’s pretty basic but it’s AMAZING!
Ok, it’s official, your girls of Eventity may be spending a little too much time together. A few nights ago over drinks the topic of hidden talents came up and of course the results have now ended up on our blog.
Everyone has a hidden talent or two, what’s yours? Come on, don’t be shy let us in on a secret skill that you have.
Listed below are our hidden talents – care to guess which talent belongs to each of us?
Hint: There is an even split (3 for Monica and 3 for Jenn).

Want a way to make a area in your ceremony or reception site, POP?! Well, here is the answer, paper garland. If we had the crafty hands we are sure we would have garland up the yin yang here at Eventity.
Thanks to Pinterest, here are our favorite ideas… Enjoy!
While most of the time my life revolves around project management, weddings, and the occasional social activity, the truth is recently it has taken a significant shift. In December I was buying empanadas at a local eatery when I noticed the tip jar went to rescue dogs. After general conversation with the young lady behind the counter, I offered my assistance if ever needed. On New Years Eve I received a call that there were several puppies in Tijuana on the side of the road, emaciated and about 5 weeks old (just starting to get mobile and destined to be hit by a passing car if not rescued). That same day the 5 puppies were placed in a tupperware container (without the lid) brought over the border and placed in my car. My generous and philanthropic family decided to divvy up the puppy duties and so we split the litter. Thank God because 5 puppies for me would have been too many for me!
After a few colds, health exams, vaccines, and adjusting to puppy food, these little guys are incredibly healthy and ready for their forever homes.
Two have already been adopted, just looking for homes for these three:
Know someone who wants to adopt a puppy in need? Please spread the word, if no takers come forward I’m going to have to start giving these little babies away as wedding gifts.
We all hope you had a great Valentine’s Day yesterday and, of course, a HUGE congratulations to the couples who got engaged.
Here at Eventity, romance is still in the air, so much so in fact that we have selected our top romantic movies to share with you.
Do some of these movies make your list? If not, what would you add?
The Notebook – We will always cry during this movie. It’s so heartwarming, plus you can’t go wrong with Ryan Gosling in the movie…What a hunk!
Up – Yes, we know what your thinking, how is this romantic? We’re referring to the first 10 minutes of this movie. Where you see the relationship progress with NO WORDS! So flippin’ cute!
500 Days of Summer – Jenn and Monica love Zooey Deschanel! And although this movie doesn’t have the happy-ever-after that we all hope for… it’s still a funny rom-com that will put a smile on your face.
Love Actually – Words can’t explain this movie. If you haven’t watched it – watch it! Watch it during Valentine’s Day or Christmas Season, it’s perfect! Plus the British accents are sexy!
Notting Hill – This is a classic in Monica’s eyes. A famous star falls in love with an average Joe. Who wouldn’t want that to happen? HA! Her favorite part is when Hugh Grant says, “Whoopsidaisies!”
The Princess Bride – Jenn’s talked about this one before but, this movie includes love, action, humor, and so much more. “Wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva…”
What’s Your Number? - Not your typical Valentine’s day movie but, a perfect one for all the single gals out there.
The Proposal – This story of a tough-as-nails boss who falls in love with her assistant is played by Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. The hilarity that ensues will have you planning your very own Alaskan vacation.
In celebration of the day for lovers which is tomorrow, Team Eventity is bringing you a few incredible date ideas. Even if you already have plans for this Valentine’s Day, save these and use them throughout the year – we promise your sweetheart will be impressed

Want to enjoy some vino but hate the thought of driving all the way to Temecula? Check out Orfila Winery in Escondido. Their impressive selection of wines and their courteous staff will help make it a date to remember.
I love getting manicures! As I mentioned last year, one of my favorite blogs for nails, beauty and hair is The Beauty Department.
Over the year, I have seen many different ways to decorate nails and while I have attempted to accomplish some of the designs myself, I tend to give up out of pure frustration. It takes a very steady hand and a talented manicurist to make some of the designs possible and I just don’t have the patience for it.
In a perfect world, my nail designs would change daily to match my outfit. Until I have my very own manicurist on staff, that goal is going to have to wait.
Check out some of my favorite designs…
